A group of Princess and Bear Mediterranean club members worked together to blend this great wine.  On the nose, Syrah dominates, with lovely notes of black fruit and spices. The palate is harmonious and well-balanced. The tannins are present and complex.

Pair this balanced wine with lamb chops, steak with peppercorns, duck breast with risotto, braised beef short ribs, portobello mushroom sandwich, or falafel.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Located in the town of Caux to the north of the medieval town of Pezenas, the Allegria vineyards lie on the slopes of an ancient volcano on the hills of the Haute Languedoc. Nine Mediterranean grape varieties make up the mosaic of the domaine's tiny vineyards: Syrah (this is the majority), Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Carignan Noir, Cinsault, Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, and Carignan Blanc. The vineyards range in age of 17 to 40 years old.
Production Notes
The wines are gently vinified, without over extracting, in order to preserve the grapes' natural fruitiness and retain their freshness and elegance. All the grapes are vinified without the addition of sulfites until bottling. This allows the winemaker to add a small dosage of sulfites during bottling to protect the wine. The domaine uses concrete tanks of different sizes that are designed to accommodate each parcel of vines and vinify them separately. Right up to the blending stage, it is important for the winemaker to preserve the personality of each of the vineyard plots. Cousu Main/Better Together was aged for 6 months in neutral French barrels, from October 2023 to March 2024.
Winemaker Notes
Created in 2008, Allegria is the result of a Franco-Argentinian friendship between the French Aboville family and the Argentinian Mota family of winemakers: on the one hand the passion and enthusiasm of a young family raising five children; on the other, one of Argentina's greatest oenologists, Roberto de la Mota, creator of Cheval des Andes and Bodega Mendel, recognized by all fans of Malbec.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this balanced wine with lamb chops, steak with peppercorns, duck breast with risotto, braised beef short ribs, portobello mushroom sandwich, or falafel.
Other Notes
Ageability: Drink tonight, for those in a hurry, or in 10 years’ time for those who are more patient, with guests who love good food and good wine, on a table set with heart and soul.
