We are thrilled to bring this dry Muscat Petit Grains wine to the US to help showcase the diverse, gorgeous wines being produced by independent winemakers in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.  This beauty will surprise and delight your palate with intense ripe apricot, cream caramel flavors but dry and with a crisp, sassy finish.  A Fleur de Peau got a magnificent notice in 2020, as one of Decanter Magazine's "Wines of the Year".  It was number 9 white wine of the year (out of about 30 rated on their website).

Because of their boldness, orange wines pair well with equally bold foods, including curry dishes, Moroccan cuisine, Ethiopian cuisine, Korean dishes with fermented kimchi (Bibimbap), and traditional Japanese cuisine, including fermented soybeans. Also this wine is gorgeous with soft cheeses drizzled with orange blossom honey.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The purest air and rich organic soils fill the 8.50 hectare vineyards on the Causse, 50 million year old limestone fields. The vineyards lie at an altitude of 270 meters, and benefit on summer nights from nighttime coolness descending from the Montagne Noire. The limestone soil at this altitude allows slow ripening of the grapes, leading to wines of great character and superb freshness.
Production Notes
Muscat Petit Grains vines planted in 2001, organic vineyards worked by hand: suckering, leaf thinning, pruning and harvesting. Destemmed, then 15 days of skin contact and spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeast. Fermented in stainless steel with 20% going into barrel after a week on skins. Eight months in steel, 50-liter barrel and 10-hectoliter ceramic egg. Went through malolactic fermentation. No fining so this is a vegan wine.
Winemaker Notes
Nicole and John Bojanowski work their beautiful vineyards together. Nicole is from Narbonne with her southern accent, her laughter and her contagious enthusiasm. John comes from further afield, from the Far West, the land of horses and Bourbon, Kentucky. Thus, in 1996, the Narbonnaise convinced her American husband that the pebbles of St Jean Minervois were the most beautiful in the world. It is a real choice of life, living and working in a village of 45 souls, in beautiful high elevation terroir of white limestone pebbles built of 50 million year old marine fossils. "The objective and the desire was to make rich wines with minerality."- the winemakers.
